Butter chicken is a popular Indian dish made with tender chicken cooked in a rich, creamy tomato-based sauce. It's mildly spiced and known for its buttery flavor and smooth texture.
Ingredients:
Chicken (boneless, usually thighs or breasts)
Onion
Garlic-Ginger Paste
Tomato Paste
Yogurt
Cream
Garam Masala
Kashmiri red chili powder
Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
Butter
Steps:
Marinate the chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, and salt. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Cook the chicken in a pan or grill until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
Heat butter in a pan, sauté chopped onions until golden.
Add pureed tomatoes, cook until oil separates from the mixture.
Add spices – garam masala, chili powder, salt – and cook for a few minutes.
Pour in cream and mix well to make a smooth, rich sauce.
Add the cooked chicken and kasuri methi. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
Garnish with cream or butter, and serve hot with naan or rice.
